Negative Full Counting Statistics Arise from Interference Effects.
The Keldysh-ordered full counting statistics is a quasiprobability distribution describing the fluctuations of a time-integrated quantum observable. While it is well known that this distribution can fail to be positive, the interpretation and origin of this negativity has been somewhat unclear. Here, we show how the full counting statistics can be tied to trajectories through Hilbert space, and...
متن کاملMultiparticle interference, Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger entanglement, and full counting statistics.
We investigate the quantum transport in a generalized N-particle Hanbury Brown-Twiss setup enclosing magnetic flux, and demonstrate that the Nth-order cumulant of current cross correlations exhibits Aharonov-Bohm oscillations, while there is no such oscillation in all the lower-order cumulants. The multiparticle interference results from the orbital Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger entanglement of N...
متن کاملFull counting statistics in strongly interacting systems: non-Markovian effects.
We present a theory of full counting statistics for electron transport through interacting electron systems with non-Markovian dynamics. We illustrate our approach for transport through a single-level quantum dot and a metallic single-electron transistor to second order in the tunnel coupling, and discuss under which circumstances non-Markovian effects appear in the transport properties.
متن کاملFull counting statistics of chaotic cavities from classical action correlations
We present a trajectory-based semiclassical calculation of the full counting statistics of quantum transport through chaotic cavities, in the regime of many open channels. Our method to obtain the mth moment of the density of transmission eigenvalues requires two correlated sets of m classical trajectories, therefore generalizing previous works on conductance and shot noise. The semiclassical r...
متن کاملFull counting statistics of Andreev tunneling.
We employ a single-charge counting technique to measure the full counting statistics of Andreev events in which Cooper pairs are either produced from electrons that are reflected as holes at a superconductor-normal-metal interface or annihilated in the reverse process. The full counting statistics consists of quiet periods with no Andreev processes, interrupted by the tunneling of a single elec...
